How to specify file types using WP plug-in Contact form 7

Contact Form 7 is a highly useful WordPress plug-in created by iDeasilo that we make available by default to all blog and websites on the AutoBurst WPMU system. This short video tutorial shows where and how to specify which file types you want to permit for upload into your site using this plug-in.

Please enable Javascript and Flash to view this Viddler video.

To access the configuration settings for this plug-in, log in to your AutoBurst account and look for the menu labeled, “Contact” just beneath the Settings menu. If you do not see this menu option then you may need to activate the plug-in. To do that, go to the Plug-ins menu and activate the plug-in called Contact Form 7.

Once you are in the configuration settings for the form permitting the file upload capability, look for the form field specific to the upload capability. You should see the file types permitted for uploaded separated with the pipe “|” character. Use this area to specify the types of files you are willing to accept.

Be sure to save your settings once you make changes by hitting the save button at bottom right. Be sure also to include the form field name in the File Attachments field. If you fail to do this then the files people attach will not be delivered.
